Dear Customer,
This letter is sent in reply to your request regarding TPL's compliance with the European Regulation "Reach" (Registration Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals). As a matter of policy, TPL in conjunction with our raw material suppliers support and promotes the key aspects of REACH, including but not limited to, the goals of life cycle management, product safety, sustainable development and effective risk communication to employees and customers.
TPL in conjunction with our raw material suppliers have been actively preparing to meet the requirements of REACH, which entered into force on June 1, 2007. We recognise that this regulation will have a significant impact on companies that make or sell product in Europe. It is TPL's raw material supplier's current intention to pre-register substances, meeting the REACH criteria for pre-registration, which we import into, or manufacture in, the European Union. Pre-registration will take place between June 1 and December 1, 2008. In addition, TPL is actively working with its suppliers to assure raw material availability.
We expect further details of REACH to be clarified when REACH Technical Guidance Documents are finalised. At that point, TPL's raw material suppliers will have a better understanding of the impact of REACH on our raw materials, products and supply chain. Therefore, TPL will continue to monitor this process and update its compliance activities accordingly.
TPL recognises the importance of ongoing communications with its customers about REACH. We will provide more detailed information in due time relating to TPL's suppliers (pre-) registration activity, uses that will be supported and specific use and exposure information to be requested from TPL's customers.
